The human being is a formidable machine, the fruit of a long and slow evolution through time and the environments it passes through. His physical and intellectual abilities have gradually given him the advantage over all the species that have crossed his path.
We are extraordinary in our complexity, precision, efficiency and yet so fragile, so dependent on our environment. It is hard to understand that we are still so negligent, that we continue to pollute it with toxic substances that are harmful to our health.
The case of the air that surrounds us, that we breathe, is a perfect illustration of this situation. Why is that? Because without air, we would not be here; because without quality air, our living comfort and life expectancy diminish greatly. But don’t we have a tendency to take this air for granted, not to pay attention to its quality?
